I have a fear of smelling bad.
If I was ever told I smell, you would not be hearing from me for a good 5 - 7 working days.
Its no secret that I am a sucker for a beauty product. Hand me anything that makes me glow and I'm yours forever.
However, one side of beauty that I have never quite found a love for is body care. That was until I walked into L`occitane.
So, I finally decided to listen to the tiktok girlies and upgrade my shower and bodycare routine and honestly, I have got it down.
01 Are you actually clean?
It may seem obvious, but you have to make sure you are actually cleaning your body. Get a good bar of antibacterial soap (I like the dettol one) and an african net sponge and give yourself a scrub.
02 Exfoliate
This is not something that should be part of your daily routine, exfoliating is more a 1 - 2 times a week sort of thing. There's a few different options when it comes to exfoliation. A classic body scrub will always do the trick, however be careful as scrubs can sometimes be too harsh for sensitive skin. My personal fav is the glycolic acid toner from The Ordinary. It is great for body texture and you can even use it on your armpits to eliminate any odour. And if none of that works for you, try a dry brush (your circulation will thank you).
03 Get yourself a shower oil NOW.
To the lovely lady in L`occitane that promised me my life we change if I bought their almond shower oil, I LOVE you. It is the most indulgent shower product I have ever tried and leaves your skin silky smooth and smelling divine. I now look forward to my morning shower and dread the day I run out of this stuff.
04 Hydrate.
This is especially important as we're going into winter. I personally like a thick body lotion that I apply straight out the shower on dry skin. Anything from Space NKs range is great. I also use it as a barrier cream when fake tanning on elbows, knees, hands and feet.
05 Find a signature scent.
I am planning an entire seperate post on this as fragrance is a passion of mine. My top tip when it comes to fragrance is find something that pairs well with your shower products. Also, spritzing yourself straight after moisturising will make your scent last longer throughout the day (so buying a nice body lotion is BASICALLY saving you money - girl maths).
